Types of Radiation

In the previous post some days before we saw about radiation, today we will see the types of radiations present in the radiation technology.

    1. Ionizing Radiation
This form of radiation is produced when some electrons are removed from an atom leading them to become ions. They are formed as a result of radio-active decay.

      a. Alpha Radiation
Alpha is a way a large nuclei decay by emitting some protons and hence they are high ionizing energy wit them but they have very low energy level.

      b. Beta(+/-) Radiation
This form consists of an energetic electron, thereby more ionizing and more energy than alpha rays.

      c. Gamma Radiation
These forms of rays are produced by high energy photons traveling from a decaying large nucleus even after it has emitted both alpha and beta rays.

    2. Non-ionizing Radiation
This is very safe because they do not carry any charged particle with them, because they consist of neutrally charged neutrons or other electromagnetic waves

      a. Neutron Radiation
Radiation is made up of neutrally charged neutrons. But they are found to be cause of starting the gamma-emissions when they strike a heavy unstable nucleus.

      b. Electromagnetic Radiation
The radio waves, microwaves are some of the common and are far safer than other waves.
